Decoupaged Monet Chair

I found a chair on the curb that needed some love, so I turned it around with some paint and a little decoupage love...

It's like I always say about curb finds... it's only embarrassing to take something off the curb for as long as it takes you to get it in your car and drive away. Then you get to keep it forever! :-)

All I did was paint it, and nail the seat down. then I started cutting up my Monet calendar and arranging the pieces into a collage. The seat is comprised of 4 different Monet masterpieces. When I got the pieces arranged just as I wanted them, I decoupaged them on. Mod Podge is a great way to do this, but it's not the only way and I've never actually owned "real" Mod Podge.

I'm really glad I put the piece at the top off-center. I think it gives it a nice unexpected twist.

I'm really pleased with the outcome and plan to do a piece of furniture with Van Gogh masterpieces next. Can anyone tell I'm into impressionism??? ;-)

Check out another one of my chair makeovers here! :-)
Also, I linked up at Xazmin's Mod Podge Mania! :-)

I think you should open a shop, really cute with all sorts of chairs you've reinvented...you could call it "Have a Seat"!

I saw something similar on the DIY today, and I was just as inspired as I am now. You did an amazing job. I think I want to do something like this on my kitchen chairs. All 6 of them. Hmmm. I need to do some research. Very nice and very clever!!
