And I don't care what anyone else says! (Ok, that's not true. When something is "too nice" to be painted, I sheepishly slump away from the task. I'm afraid that others might think I'm a freak for ruining the wooden furniture... and The Masked Husband is at the top that list!) But I personally prefer for EVERYTHING wooden to be painted in the furniture category!
That's why this chair is so great. I found it on the curb, plus it was in terrible shape. No need to worry about "ruining" it ;-) Also, this chair was worn out enough that it didn't need to be sanded. Score!
First I painted it white, and then I just "hit it" with some blue. If you're looking to use this technique, be sure not to do too "perfect" of a job... but feel free to use a little masking tape if you want so you can be free with your brush strokes!
Next, I wanted something pretty on the seat. So I got my inspiration from this piece of fabric. Isn't is beautiful?! (Ok, I know I'm a more colorful person than most... but I love it!)

What a great chair! Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog :)
It is just lovely! I'm so glad you joined our party!! It's so nice meeting new blog friends!
Hugs and blessings,

Isn't it funny how the blogs that we keep returning too we find similar characteristics that we find in ourselves. I guess it's because we can truly relate. Now, I'm not as artistic as you, but I have an old chair in my basement that I've been wanting to something with and a small rocking horse and my husband just shakes his head. I absolutely love your new treasure!

I am a painted wood kinda girl too! Your chair turned out fabulous!
Way to go! You turned this chair into something really unique and colorful. I can't believe you painted that flower! So NOT my talent! Fun project to share!!
YAY for color! I'm a huge fan of "if you don't like it, paint it," regardless of the finish. And this looks great! I'll be linking.
this is beautiful!
You did a great job on the roses.
I love it!:)

WOW, this is beautiful!! Great job!!!
I love what you did with that chair - way to make something totally your own. Wonderful paint job on those flowers !
absolutely beautiful! You make painting roses seem so easy!
Congrats on the feature at One Pretty Thing as well!
I have a thing for "orphaned" chairs. You did such a great job painting the flowers. Impressive!
Really pretty, and I love your color choices!
There is nothing like a fresh coat of paint! I especially love painted chairs. This is beautiful.
