Super Menu Planning

Loosing weight is hard, even for us supers. I mean, how am a supposed to find the time to fix an appropriate meal? I'm always in such a hurry that I'm forced to change my clothes in a phone booth... I don't have time to think about what I'm eating for lunch! I have a world household to save, people!

Solution? I think it's menu planning. I've never done this before. Flying, sure. X-ray vision, you bet. But menu planning... I'm a rookie.

So here goes nothing. The recipes are all from Chubbie Chica because she lists weight watchers points.

Breakfast~
yogurt, eggs, cereal

Lunch~
turkey dogs, salad, sandwiches, leftovers

Dinner~
Baked Shrimp in Lemon Sauce 4 pts (with brocoli & rice)
Baked Chicken 4 pts (with carrots)
Mexican Meatball Sub 5 pts
Crockpot Black Beans 2 pts (with rice)
Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing 8 pts

Snacks~
yogurt, carrots, fruit, popcorn, chips and salsa, hummus

Hopefully, planning healthy meals will help me start trimming the waist. You can't imagine how hard it is to pull off these tight spandex suits us superheros have to wear all the time!

If you're looking for a great weight loss blog, I suggest you go visit The Smiling Fat Girl. She always says exactly what I'm thinking about my own body. And if you're looking for some encouragement with linking abilities, I'm planning on joining Quintooples for Flabby Friday. I haven't lost any weight yet, so it seems hypocritical to host my own weight loss blog parties...

I'm going weight watchers. Comment and let me know what your weight loss plan is (assuming that you are on a diet, and lets face it, most of us moms are...) And if you're blogging about weight loss, leave us a link in your comment!

Great menu! I'm a WW Lifetime Member now - I lost 30 pounds last year and menu planning was a HUGE help to get me to goal. Good luck! :)

Hello,
It's my 1st time to your blog and I LOVE it! lol
Menu planning was a huge help for me-both physically and financially. I was more organized, we ate better...all in all a plus.

I did WW, too, becoming a lifetime member. It was great. Only I stopped making it to the meetings when my dh started grad school, and then my boys got sick, we moved into our first house, bla bla bla. I have gained back too much and need to get back on track. WW truly is such a lifestyle way. (meaning easily done, w/ some planning;)
Good luck to you! I'll be back to your blog.

Oooh, thanks for those links--I'll be checking them out later today.

I did WW on my own last year and counted points, blah, blah, blah. Lost ten pounds, took a break--and promptly gained fifteen pounds! Ack!!

Now I'm starting over and just trying to make healthier choices. I lost 3-4 pounds (depends on the day!) since January 1st just by cutting out my bedtime snack. Unfortunately there aren't any other "easy" cuts to make...now I think I'm actually going to have to work at it. Blech!

The shrimp recipe looks good. I'm going to have to try it. Another good resource for menu planning is The Frantic Women's Guide to Feeding Family and Friends by Mary Jo Rulnick. I have the book- actually heard her speak, but am bad about follow through. I start out doing something, but then let it go to the wayside!

ps. I'm glad that you like the award. You've already lived up to it. You inspired me to do laundry after seeing that you could clear the hallway. I still can't see mine, but at least I got started. He, He!!

I feel that I have been on one diet or another my WHOLE LIFE. So now I have decided that I will do a lifestyle change and just try to live a healthier life.

Also I don't understand what is going ON with my body. I used to be able to diet for a while and lose a few pounds. One time I dieted and lost 80 pounds... man I looked good! Then I got pregnant, lost the baby weight in 6 months, then got pregnant again and haven't been able to lose that weight yet!

A couple of weeks ago Hubby and I did a master cleanse. You don't eat for 5-21 days, however long you want to go. I was so SICK. It felt like I had the flu. Hubby was fine. Active and felt great... jerk. Anyway, I GAINED 5 pounds during this 7 day cleanse!? What!? But I lost 6 inches off my waist. Apparently I no longer lose weight, just inches.

So my new goal is to get down to a size Medium and call it good. No weight goal as that only frustrates me.

I do not eat meat, I eat lots of veggies, fruit and whole grains. I don't eat sugar, mostly, I mean all women NEED a little sugar now and then =) I don't drink soda pop, I pretty much only drink water and hot tea. Toss a hot Chi in there sometimes, and once in a great while a Frappe.

I'm feeling great and slowly, painfully slowly, losing inches!

Good luck to you in Weight Watchers! I know lots of people that did it and it WORKED!
