Make a Romantic Lantern

Hi Super Readers! Today, I thought I would share a dollar store craft with you. Check out what I did with a plain paper lantern:

The best part? You can make your own for just $2.00! The lantern came from the dollar aisle at Michael's. Gotta love that dollar section ;-)

The bag of faux rose petals came from the Dollar Tree for a buck. You can't beat that with a stick!

How I did it:
I started at the bottom, and glued on the rose petals one by one, working my way up the lantern in a spiral. I used regular school glue. I turned them all the same way rather than going for a random feel. I left quite a bit of space between them because I wanted a lot of pink to show through.

Here is a picture where the lantern is not lit to help you see how I did it:

I love the way it glows when it's lit up! Isn't it dreamy?

I have a few more to decorate and then I'll be turning them into a light fixture. I'm hoping to post pictures of the completed project soon!

Now I'm up, up, and away to catch up on my housework! ;-)
