Ribbon Craft Party!

Heidi at Blue Eyed Blessings is hosting her monthly craft challenge today... ribbon edition! And you guys know I can't resist a good linky party ;-) Linky parties are my kryptonite. They cripple my ability to get my house work done!

So here's my ribbon craft! It's a... well, it's a thingy-jigger. But it's cute and it hangs pictures on your wall!

Here's how you can make your own. I started with one of those tiny canvases you can get at the dollar section in Michael's. Then I painted it pink, painted some white polka dots around the edge, and glued a fake flower in the middle. The ribbon was just stapled onto the back of the canvas with a regular desk stapler.

After painted clothespins the color of your choice, just thread them on where you want them to hang, and then tie knots under them to keep them in place. Voila! You've made your own picture hanging thingy-jigger!

I think this would be a great DIY baby present, Mother's day present, or even a teacher gift. It wouldn't have to hold photographs either. It could hang in your kitchen to hold your phone messages, or hold recipe cards while you're cooking. It would also be great to hang on a narrow wall where other things couldn't fit. I think it would be handy in an office, too. Hope some of you find this idea useful! I think it's adorable in my daughter's room!

**Updated to Say**
Omgoodness you guys! I missed the boat! This would be sooooo stinkin' cute if I had used green ribbon and painted the clothespins green, because it would look like a big tall flower! Urg! Ok, now I have to make another one :-)

Here's a photoshopped preview of the cuteness possibilities with green:

Haha! I need to go shopping for some green ribbon! :-)

What a great idea for a baby's room!! I love the painted canvas too...and are they really only a dollar!! I have something similar in my hallway made out of wire, but it runs horizontally like a clothesline and we hang the boys art work and bday invitiations on it!

oh, that's really cute! I think my 12 and 8 yr old would love it in their room so they can clip pictures of their friends and cousins.

So glad you joined in...I laughed when you said that linky parties are your kryptonite. I love a good linky party, too!

This "thingy-jigger" turned out adorable! I love that you painted the clothespins to match the project. This would make a great little addition at Christmastime, too, with all of the photo cards people send out. That way you can display LOTS Of them!

Happy Thursday and thanks for coming to the party!
